All are welcome to attend and the event will include a talk by Brian Jonson of Marlow Rotary Club, an ambassador club for End Plastic Soup project. The End Plastic Soup campaign started in 2018 in the Rotary Clubs of Amsterdam and has spread to Rotary Clubs in other countries, including the UK. In 2021 End Plastic Soup will become a Rotary Action Group making it truly International! Brian’s talk starts with the massive pollution of the River Thames with plastic waste and micro-plastics, then looks at the global issue and considers how we can all act to END PLASTIC SOUP! Fitting in very well with the local community basis of Marlow Bridge Rotary Club, this will be our 4th project supporting the local environment. We shall also be giving updates on all the various projects that Marlow Bridge Rotary Club runs and how you can join in to help... Click here to register – End Plastic Soup Meeting 26-01-21

As a big thank you from all Rotarians in Marlow for all that you have done to help us, the Rotary Club of Marlow Thames has arranged to give you the opportunity to celebrate Christmas after an incredibly challenging year. All free of charge! The ingenious plan devised by Tom Kerridge and the Pub in the Park team, with support from Marlow Town Council means that Marlow may be the only town in Britain where the majority of the community will still have the opportunity to meet up for Christmas 🎄 🎄 🎄 This week-long community led festival will host a variety of events from 16th-22nd December, with the support of several local organisations, including our very own trip to see The Muppets Christmas Carol on Sunday 20 December – gates open at 10.30 for a 11.00 am start. To obtain a pass for your car and its occupants, send an email providing your registration number, (plus driver's name and mobile number - this for Covid Track & Trace) to: rotarydrivein@gmail.com There is a limit of 100 cars! Passes will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The festival is also being supported by Marlow Rugby Club, My Marlow and Marlow FM 🎅 To see the full programme, visit marlowchristmasdrivein.co.uk Marlow Library reopening 05 December after refurbishment... MMDF has a long-term relationship with Marlow Library and in fact MMDF’s informal HQ is based at the Library in Institute Road, Marlow. Alongside the recent refurbishment, we have been very pleased to assist Janet Webb, Library Operations Manager, in helping make the Library dementia friendly. This includes a specific area with books, games, leaflets and somewhere to sit for people living with Dementia, their carers and family. With the refurbishment works complete, it is great to see Marlow Library opening its doors again today, providing such superb new facilities for the whole community from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. Here is the announcement from Library Manager, Michelle Sandalls. Your local library now has a smart new look throughout, with a bigger and brighter children's space plus lots of comfortable seating and plenty of lovely new books. We offer upgraded computer facilities, a new meeting room, self-service technology and loanable tablets to use within the library. There are surprises for children and adults including the sensory StoryWall® and original art by Kirsty Harris, so we look forward to welcoming you soon. In order to ensure social distancing, a maximum of 12 visitors will be allowed in the library at any one time. So to avoid disappointment and ensure your place on our opening day, please use our online booking system to book your individual 30-minute slot. You can book online or you can of course turn up on the day, but due to social distancing measures you may need to queue before entering.
